Hail, fellow travellers.
Greetings, and welcome to the homepage for the game system some friends and I have been using for the past ten or so years. I've set this up mostly to help out our game group, but would be happy to share what we've come up with in the hope that we'll get some feedback and useful additions.
How we got here.
Like most who write game systems, Tripper started out from some dissatisfaction with existing games. Specifically, most role playing games are set up with a specific genre in mind, which meant you ended up rolling up a new character for each game system. Games which did allow you to move between worlds had no limits to keep magic or higher technology items from turning characters into largely invincible beings that could only battle other such demigods.
Another key issue was flexibility, I wanted to set something up to allow characters to add new skills when on a new planet, and to allow for a lot of development. I also wanted to make it easy to integrate the many role playing aids available and allow for as much creativity as possible with a single set of rules.
Finally, I've tried to make the rules fit a consistent format, so the focus is on gameplay rather than laborious rule interpretation and probability calculation.
The result.
Tripper was written with a lot of help from the friends who I've gamed with over the years. The ideas came together in a basic framework of rules which you can download as a PDF. I'll be putting up some of our other game materials that have been written over the years.
The book was laid out to include original artwork, so you'll find some boxes and blank areas on the pages. The text is as intended.

Here's a place we set up that's owned by the PCs as a lodge for Travellers:
Jack's Place.
Jack's Place was once a largish country house, it is located in southern England, not far from Stonehenge. Near Stonehenge is the gate referred to in the text. It's intended to be used as a "home base" for PCs and convenient meeting point for characters.
Shawn DeArment has done a significant amount of rule writing, especially for the magical side of things. I've started collecting his documentation here. Thanks Shawn.
